Business or Pleasure?
I traveled to Italy about 15 years ago with a very typical tourist group to typical tourist attractions. It was a good trip, but I quickly discovered that I have strong preferences while traveling in high tourist areas. Walking tours of small historical towns and villages were generally more enjoyable then the biggest tourist attractions. The Coliseum was amazing, but a second visit would only happen if I could plan it to avoid the worst of the tourist crush (Not Summer!). I’d rather have an interesting conversation with a local than have the “standard” picture of holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
What I’m looking foward to most in this Study Abroad trip is the focus on business and the lack of focus on the biggest tourist traps.
Somehow, choosing Lamborghini over the Coliseum seems shallow, but who can blame me?
